The Bremer Stadtmusikanten was a compelling and beautiful play that made for an enjoyable evening at the GISNY. The talented students of the theatre group kept the audience on the edge of their seats with goofy and edgy humor as well as pleasant rhymes combined with well executed light effects by the tech crew throughout the play.

The theatre group included students from 5th through 12th grade exhibiting the competent teamwork of the entire student body. The cat, dog, chicken and donkey that escaped their deadly fates found refuge in a forest where they now live out the rest of their years. The stage, which was most expertly built and decorated by the school-renowned theatre ladies, Mrs. Engel & Mrs. Guler, set a fitting atmosphere for the famous play. The makeup and costumes were most extravagant and effective. I can certainly say that the play was a massive success, and that I wish all the best for the young new actors in their theatrical careers.
